Birdscaping our gardens

12 February 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

$5

Did you know that gardens play an important role in bird conservation? As urbanization increases on the Sunshine Coast your garden can contribute to maintaining bird diversity whilst also bringing joy to your day as you share your life with our feathered friends. A well landscaped garden will also support a community of native wildlife including insects, amphibians, mammals and reptiles.

Steve Popple is an avid birder and horticulturist who has a wealth of experience in creating and enhancing habitats for birds. Steve will share the key elements that will ensure that your garden can attract a diversity of birds throughout the year plus which bird attracting plant species are particularly suited for gardens of all sizes on the Sunshine Coast. Establishing a bird-attracting garden has its trials and tribulations and this practical presentation will help you avoid some of the common mistakes and inspire you to dig for birds.

Come along and catch up with like-minded people and enjoy an informative morning.

The forum will be at the Environment Centre for limited numbers owing to COVID restrictions. To come to the EC, it is essential to pre-register.
