May 22: Health Consequences of Adverse Worldwide Environmental Changes, Dr Kevin Alford

Associate Professor Kevin Alford is a retired senior consultant cardiologist/physician who gained experience as a cardiologist in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom. He has more recently specialised in education and history. Kevin has lectured at state and national universities and has been published in the Medical Journal of Australia and Circulation. After working in regional Australia for many years, he has a special interest in disadvantaged and indigenous populations.
Kevin is experienced at providing informative educational talks at conferences and cruise ships and having watched the progress in cardiology for over five decades, he is particularly adept at providing insights into the developments in heart disease and health in general.
While observing adverse worldwide environmental changes, Kevin has developed an interest in environmental health issues. At Friday Forum on May 22nd, he will focus on the impact and mechanisms by which issues such as solar radiation, noise and air pollution, microplastics and food contaminants result in detrimental effects on human health.
Everyone is welcome at the Noosa Parks Association Environment Centre, 5 Wallace Drive, Noosaville where the forum starts at 10:30am with morning tea available from 10-10:25am. Entry is $5 by ‘tap & go’ at the door which includes morning tea/coffee. Free admittance for current members of Noosa Parks Association.
