Jessica Drake at a bird park and a curlew

Here on the Sunshine Coast we’re very lucky to have an abundance of wild birds of many species in our backyards, forests, waterways and coastal foreshores. Guest speaker Jessica Drake says; “it’s a joy to see them, but when birds and humans co-exist sometimes accidents happen or we may have an impact on the health and well-being of those wild birds. During my time working as a veterinarian I would often see and treat such cases first hand.”

In this talk Jessica will be discussing what to do if you find a sick or injured bird and some of the common health issues of wild birds which cause them to require care and rehabilitation.
